Mercy and Grace

I LOVE THAT GOD LOVES TO GIVE GRACE AND MERCY!

Mat 5:44-45 

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;  (45)  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

I LOVE IT MOST BECAUSE I NEED MERCY.  My sin had imprisoned me.  The wages of my sin were eternal death.  I had no hope and no promise of tomorrow, except for the Grace and Mercy of Jesus Christ.

·     I don’t want what I deserve.

·     I tremble when I consider it.

·     I want GRACE.

·     I want what I don’t deserve.

·     I dream about it.

Mic 7:18-19

Who is a God like You, forgiving iniquity and passing by the transgression of the remnant of His possession? He does not make strong His anger forever, for He delights in grace.  (19)  He will return to pity us; He will subdue our iniquities. Yea, You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. 

There are precious people in my life today that would not be part of my world if it were not for God’s mercy and grace.  That’s because when God fills my life with his mercy and blesses me with his grace, I have no choice but to extend the same love to others.  My heart would not have been able to forgive, left to my own weakness.  Mercy and grace leave the door open in every relationship we have for the possibility of healing. 

I LOVE THAT MY GOD IS A GIVER OF MERCY AND GRACE!  If you and I are going to be the children of our heavenly Father, we have no choice but to receive it and pass it on.

If you’re like the rest of us here on planet earth, you’ve been far less than perfect.  When I remember the great price that Jesus paid for my sin, tears well up in my heart.  When all is said and done, I know I will agree with the verses in Micah. 

“WHO IS A GOD LIKE YOU!”  You subdue our iniquities.  Yes!  You cast them in the depths of the sea.
