Jesus is Knocking

Recently, with all the inclement weather, some folks have missed a few days of work. Labor is a good thing, but God also intended for each of us to have a time of rest to look forward to. A song without a "rest note" is just a bunch of noise "strung together." It was by the wayside where Jesus did His best teaching. It's hard to worship or hear from the Lord when our lives are more like a whirlwind than still waters.
Psalm 4:4
Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Jesus is knocking on the door of our hearts, not just those of people who are lost; He's knocking on the door of those who are spiritual leaders in their workplaces and communities. He's knocking because we need to sit down in His presence and hear from God.
Rev 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Once we open that door and the Lord makes His presence known, the topic will be about Him and His plans for us. If sin has separated us from God, that will be part of your conversation with the Lord.
Isa 1:16-18
Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; (17) Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. (18) Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
For many of us, Friday means we can look forward to a time of rest. God, in His wisdom, designed a day of rest, not only for our bodies, but also for our minds and our spirits. God extends a special invitation to us all: "Come now, and let us reason together."
