“A Study of Colossians”
I’m married to a gifted Bible teacher. Tonight at 6:30 at Grace Place (Morganton, NC), Dawn will teach the first lesson she prepared in the book of Colossians. We plan to stream the series live each Wednesday night for the next 7 weeks or so. It will be easier to find the stream each week if you click the link below and subscribe. https://www.youtube.com/@Hisgraceplace
I believe this little book holds a powerful message we all need today. Here is just one of the passages I love.
Colossian 1:9-14
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; (10) That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; (11) Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; (12) Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: (13) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: (14) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Why do we pray?
· That God’s children be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
· That God’s children will walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work.
· That we continue to increase in the knowledge of God.
· That we be strengthened with all might.
o Strengthened how? According to God’s glorious power.
o What does that look like in a believer’s life? Patience and long suffering with joyfulness.
Why do we praise Him?
· We get to be part of the “saints in light.”
· We were delivered from the power of darkness.
· We have been translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son.
· Right now, we have redemption through the blood of Christ, even the forgiveness of sins.
I hope you have time to join Dawn in person or online at 6:30. https://www.youtube.com/@Hisgraceplace
