God's word is living and active. It is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts as deep as the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet. God's word judges a person's thoughts and intentions.

It’s powered by the Holy Spirit and never needs recharging. 

·     Through God’s Word, we are convinced of sin and brought to salvation. 

·     We discover wisdom in its pages. 

·     We learn how to act and how to live. 

·     When we open the book, we are also spending time with our God. 

·     We discover who God is.

·     We find the depth of His love.

·     We see the wonder of His plan.

·     We find hope when it’s nowhere else to be found.

·     The Word is a lamp for our feet and a light to our path.

I obey your word instead of following a way that leads to trouble.  (102)  You have been my teacher, and I won't reject your instructions.  (103)  Your teachings are sweeter than honey.  (104)  They give me understanding and make me hate all lies.  (105)  Your word is a lamp that gives light wherever I walk. 

In a day when people are adding all types of supplements to their diet to help them through the day, allow me to remind you that nothing you could add to your life on this cold Friday morning is more powerful and life-changing than the word of God.
